Jesse through secondary education has earned the following insurance designations….Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), Health Insurance Associate (HIA), Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP), Fellowship of Healthcare Management (FAHM) and Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act Associate (HIPAAA). In addition to running AMGI, Jesse also devotes a lot his of time teaching at various institutions on issues related to healthcare.
Jesse is member of National Association of Health Underwriters, Association of Health Insurance Agents, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, The Galen Institute, Center for Health Transformation, Iowa Society of Association Executives and the Iowa Retail Federation.
Jesse is currently serving his seventh term on the Iowa Small Group Reform Committee as Secretary, and assisted in Congressional studies on the effects of Healthcare Reform at the state level. He is past president of the Des Moines Life Underwriters and the Iowa Association of Health Underwriters (IAHU). Jesse is currently chairman of the Iowa Retail Federation and president of the Iowa Retail Foundation.
Jesse is a top insurance agent for several health insurance companies in the United States, and has earned NAHU’s Golden Eagle Award for outstanding production in health insurance for fifteen consecutive years.
In 2005, the Iowa Insurance Industry recognized Jesse by making him the youngest member inducted into the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame. He has also received the Gene Hilton Award, NAHU and IAHU’s Distinguished Service Award, State Legislative Achievement Award and the William Wetzel Public Speaking Award to name a few.
In 1996 Jesse had a kidney transplant and now serves as a volunteer and speaker for the Iowa Donor Network.
Jesse is married to Laura Patton, the Vice-President of AMGI, since 1978. They have two sons Lee, who is now a full-time employee at AMGI and Allen a senior in high school.
